Designed
with both form and function in mind, the Black Diamond
Raven is a traditional mountaineer’s piolet for
classic alpine climbs. The sculpted, stainless steel head
has a neutral pick and a tapered wasp-waisted platform
for a solid grip. Meanwhile, a classically-curved adze
blasts ice and chops steps into the most bulletproof ice.
A 7075-T6 extruded shaft keeps things light without sacri€cing
strength, while a 17-4 investment-cast spike has both
a narrow profile for speed glissading and a wide pro€le
for shutting it down. It also features a comfortable grip.
